What is Amazon prep fees

Amazon has recently announced FBA Prep Service – a convenient and cost effective way to get your products prepared (prep) and packaged for storage and handling at the fulfilment centre during inbound. This will help to simplify selling on Amazon, this service allows you to focus on growing your business while Amazon takes care of the fulfilment. 

Prep activities available as part of this service are Product Taping, Bubble-wrap, Poly-Bagging and Opaque Bagging. You can continue to opt to Product Labelling service (FNSKU stickering) launched in April 2017.

Starting June 15, 2018, you can opt to Amazon Inbound Prep service by following either of the following steps (Login to Seller Central required): 

- During inbound shipment-creation workflow, click Prepare Products > Who Prepares > Amazon.    
- On your Seller Central home page, click Settings >  Fulfilment by Amazon > Optional Services > Who Preps > Select “Amazon”.

In case you choose to prep the products yourself but the products have missing / incomplete / damaged prep upon receipt at the fulfilment centre, Amazon preps them as “Unplanned Prep” and charges you a corresponding “Unplanned Prep” fee.

Note: All oversize items weighing more than 30 Kg are classified as Oversize Heavy and Bulky
